O'Fallon, Mo -- Controversy erupted within the Francis Howell School District as a result of actions taken by the school board, which have the potential to lead to the expiration of an anti-racism resolution within the district. The setting for this unfolding situation was the Francis Howell School District headquarters located off Highway K, where the school board convened for a crucial vote Thursday. The resolution could soon reach its end if the board's decision stands.Opponents of the board's action were vocal in expressing their concerns, arguing that allowing the resolution to expire would send the wrong message. ST. LOUIS -- The removal of trauma services at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, as reported by the Post-Dispatch, will result in the area lacking a dedicated facility to address urgent, severe injuries like those caused by gunshots, stabbings, or car crashes. SSM Health, the organization responsible for this decision, has cited a low volume of such patients as the reason behind scaling back trauma services.SSM Health has assured the community that they will work closely with local emergency services to facilitate a smooth transition during this change. Despite the discontinuation of trauma services, DePaul Hospital will retain its Level One designation for treating strokes and heart attacks, ensuring continued crucial care in those medical areas.

Colorado on Friday will begin fining drivers $75 for using the Interstate 70 express lanes in the mountains when they’re closed or weaving in and out to get around traffic, among other violations.During a new safety enforcement program’s month-long grace period, more than 5,600 drivers received warnings in the mail after they were detected using an automated system of cameras and sensors, the Colorado Department of Transportation says.
