With a Thanksgiving Day deadline looming, union officials say there are “major issues left unresolved” as General Motors continues to resist key elements of the pattern agreement struck with Ford last month. In a video address to union members Unifor president Lana Payne says while there has been progress made at the local and sub-committee tables, they continue to get resistance from GM on a number of important elements of the comprehensive pattern agreement struck with Ford. The three year deal that was ratified with Ford included what the union said was the highest wage increases in the history of Canadian auto bargaining, improved pension plans and protections during electric vehicle transition. “No one here expected getting this pattern with GM would be easy. It is wrong to assume that these employers will simply accept the pattern agreement,” explained Payne. “We knew it would be a challenge, particularly given the significance of the economic set...Head chef of Harrod's in London on vegan baking

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Israeli soldiers battled Hamas fighters in the streets of southern Israel on Sunday and launched retaliation strikes that leveled buildings in Gaza, while in northern Israel a brief exchange of strikes with Lebanon's Hezbollah militant group raised fears of a broader conflict. There was still some fighting underway more than 24 hours after an unprecedented surprise attack from Gaza, in which Hamas militants, backed by a volley of thousands of rockets, broke through Israel's security barrier and rampaged through nearby communities. At least 600 people have reportedly been killed in Israel — a staggering toll on a scale the country has not experienced in decades — and more than 300 have been killed in Gaza. The militants also took captives back into the coastal Gaza enclave, including women, children and the elderly, whom they will likely try to trade for thousands of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. The high death toll, multiple captives and slow r...These are the 7 'most offensive' behaviors that break airplane etiquette

(NEXSTAR) – Just how comfortable do you make yourself on a flight?Modern air travel can be hard enough – passengers have had to deal with a spike in ugly mid-flight incidents, additional charges for baggage and shrinking legroom. Then there are the unspoken (and sometimes clearly spelled out) etiquette rules that some passengers ignore. A survey by online travel engine Skyscanner found that there are seven behaviors in particular that most offend passengers.(File: Getty)7. Asking someone to switch seatsNearly a third of respondents agreed that asking someone to leave the seat they reserved on the flight and swap places is a no-no. It's not clear if this is situation-dependent for any of the respondents, but 31% of the 2,000 U.S. adults who were polled thought it was an offensive breach of flying etiquette.(File: Getty)6. Using both armrestsAn equal number of respondents found that fellow passengers who used both armrests were breaking an unspoken rule. RIVERTON, Kan. (KSNF/KODE) — A good-looking, well-manicured lawn is what most homeowners strive for during the spring and summer months. But once the leaves begin to fall, most people can't wait to put the lawnmower away and take a much-needed break from cutting the grass. Now that fall is here and the temperatures begin to cool, when should you stop mowing the yard?Lawn care experts say the ideal time to stop mowing is when the grass stops growing. It's a general rule of thumb with which Alex Lambert, manager of Lambert Tractor and Machine Sales in Riverton, Kansas, agrees."Last year, we had a pretty bad drought, and that lasted through most of the summer. When we have years with very little rainfall during the peak summer months, the trees brown up quicker and the grass will also turn brown and stop growing. So the end of the mowing season came much sooner — I'm talking late July or early August," said Lambert.According to a recently published scientific case study on dr...FBI expert breaks down missing child case
